Pilot From Derwood Dies in Carroll County Plane Crash
Henry Judkins, 64, reported mechanical issues before crashing.
Maryland State Police and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating a plane crash at the Carroll County Regional Airport in Westminster Friday morning that killed the pilot, a Derwood resident. Henry Judkins, 64, of the 7700 block of Epsilon Drive, was the only person aboard the Remos GX, a light sport aircraft, police said. Judkins was pronounced dead at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Police said Judkins was one mile away from the Carroll County Regional Airport in Westminster when he reported mechanical issues.
