Report: ‘Dummy’ May Have Caused Red Line Derailment

Equipment failure may be to blame for last week's train derailment, The Washington Post reports.

A “dummy truck” malfunction may have led to the derailment of a Red Line train on Friday, The Washington Post reports.

Two dummy trucks—used to move broken Metro rail cars—were on two of the six cars on the train when it derailed near the Rhode Island Avenue Metro stop, The Post reports, bringing Friday morning’s commute to a standstill.
