"I'm excited to take this next step in my career. It's incredible for Def Jam [Records] and Visionary Music Group to work together and the opportunity to collaborate with a living legend like No I.D. is priceless. I'm very humbled to be apart of the most iconic hip hop label of all time," Logic said in a statement, according to the report.

Def Jam currently represents numerous artists, and recognizes Kanye West, Nas, Rick Ross and Rihanna, among others, as featured artists on its website.

In June 2012, Complex Music named Logic one of 10 new DMV rappers to look out for.

"A MoCo (Montgomery County) representer, Logic paints detailed and vivid pictures, which makes perfect sense because it’s film that helped solidify his love for hip-hop," Julian Kimble wrote about the Gaithersburg rapper in the Complex Music feature. "It was the score of Kill Bill, done entirely by the RZA, that let a then-15-year-old Logic know he wanted to be a rapper."
