Gaithersburg Crime: 5 Sexual Assaults, Indecent Exposure at Lakeforest Mall and More

The following information was provided by the Montgomery County Police Department. Arrests or charges do not indicate a conviction.

Montgomery County police released a crime summary for June 3-11. The following incidents were reported in Gaithersburg:

  • Two of the three vehicle-related thefts occurred in the unit block of Turnham Court and the unit block of Thorburn Road, probably after midnight on Wednesday, June 5. Entry to the vehicles was not forced and property was taken.
  • An attempted burglary occurred in the 18500 block of Boysenberry Drive on Wednesday, June 5, between 3:20 p.m. and 4 p.m. An attempted forced entry occurred and nothing was taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 200 block of West Deer Park Road on Wednesday, June 5, between 4:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Entry to the home was not forced and property was taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 17600 block of Wheatfall Drive between Wednesday, June 5, and Monday, June 10. Entry to the home was forced and property was taken.
  • An indecent exposure occurred on Thursday, June 6, at around 5:30 a.m. in the unit block of Shady Side Place.
  • An aggravated assault occurred in the 19200 block of Montgomery Village Avenue on Thursday, June 6, at 7 p.m.
  • A sexual assault occurred in an unknown location in the King Farm area in Gaithersburg on Thursday, June 6, around 8 p.m. The victim willingly went with the suspects, was assaulted, and managed to flee.
  • A sexual assault occurred on Friday, June 7, at 8:50 a.m. in the 800 block of Clopper Road. The suspect inappropriately touched the victim.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 400 block of Muddy Branch Road on Friday, June 7, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Entry to the home was forced and property was taken.
  • A sexual assault occurred in the area of Goshen Road and Snouffer School Road between Friday, June 7, at noon and Saturday, June 8, at 4 a.m. The suspect is known to the victim.
  • A vehicle theft occurred between Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8, in the 19700 block of Greenside Terrace.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 400 block of Chestnut Road on Saturday, June 8, between 12:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. Entry to the home was not forced and property was taken.
  • An aggravated assault occurred at Mi Pueblito's, located at 6 North Summit Avenue, on Saturday, June 8, at around 11:50 p.m. The suspects attempted to assault the victim with a weapon, then fled.
  • A commercial burglary occurred at Rosenthal Acura, located at 623 North Frederick Avenue on Sunday, June 9, around 1:50 a.m. Entry to the business was forced and property was taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 11900 block of Bambi Court on Sunday, June 9, between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Entry to the home was not forced and property was taken.
  • A sexual assault occurred in the pedestrian tunnel in the area of Smoothstone Drive and Stedwick Road on Sunday, June 9, around 1 p.m.
  • A robbery occurred on Sunday, June 9, at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the 10000 block of Ridgeline Drive. The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property.
  • An indecent exposure occurred at Lakeforest Mall, located at 701 Russell Avenue, on Sunday, June 9, at 2:30 p.m. The suspect exposed himself and was arrested.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 800 block of Pointer Ridge Drive on Monday, June 10, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Entry to the home was forced and property was taken.
  • A sexual assault occurred in the 19400 block of Brassie Place on Monday, June 10, around 1:30 p.m. The suspect is known to the victim.
