If you are fluent in Spanish, the Montgomery County Board of Elections would like to say "Bienvenida."
With the growing Spanish speaking population in Montgomery County, the Board of Elections needs Spanish-fluent election judges to help man polling stations on primary election day, April 3, 2012.
"In accordance with the Election Law of Maryland, judges must be registered to vote in the State of Maryland, 18 years of age or older, and a U.S. citizen," the Board said in a statement released this afternoon.
"Judges must also be able to speak, read, and write in English. Montgomery County residency is not a pre-requisite to serve. All judges will be compensated for training and for Election Day service."
According to 2010 U.S. Census data, there was a 106 percent increase in the Spanish population in Maryland during the past decade.
