Shady Grove Adventist Announces New President

Shady Grove Adventist Hospital has a new president.

John Sackett, who most recently served as president and chief executive officer of Avista Adventist Hospital in Louisville, Co., began his tenure on Monday, April 8.

“I am pleased to take on the leadership role at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. I see my role as working closely with the team of caregivers – employees, physicians and hospital leaders – to create an environment in which we can ensure our community that Shady Grove Adventist Hospital is the best place to receive quality medical care,” Sackett said in a statement.

In his new role, Sackett will will oversee the management of the acute care hospital with 331 licensed beds, according to a news release. 

During his 24 years leading Avista Adventist Hospital, Sackett produced physician and employee satisfaction that consistently ranks among the top U.S. hospitals, according to the release. He also oversaw quality cardiac, emergency, joint and spine care, as well as the area’s largest birth center.

“John is closely aligned with our mission to improve the health of people and communities through aministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. He has a unique combination of expertise in hospitaladministration, compassion and commitment to holistic health care,” Terry Forde, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Adventist HealthCare, said in a statement. “We are pleased to welcome him to our Adventist HealthCare team and to Montgomery County.”
