On The Agenda: Middle Great Seneca Creek Watershed Study

The Gaithersburg Mayor and City Council will meet for a work session at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall.

A plan providing a framework for achieving local watershed protection and restoration goals being developed for the Middle Great Seneca Creek Watershed will be the topic of disucssion at Monday evening's Gaithersburg Mayor and City Council work session.

The watershed drains over three square miles of Gaithersburg and includes portions of the MD 355 corridor, the county fairgrounds, and Lakeforest Mall, according to city documents. It also includes various other residential areas, as well as commercial, office and light industrial uses.

The above presentation—made by Melissa Hess, URS Corporation, the lead engineer for the project— is an overview of the Middle Great Seneca Creek Watershed Assessment’s progress and findings since its kick-off meeting in August 2012.
