Gaithersburg Arts: City Announces Three Galleries Debuting in September

Gaithersburg announces new art galleries at the Arts Barn, Kentlands Mansion and the Activity Center at Bohrer Park.

The city of Gaithersburg announced Wednesday three new art collections will be hosted at the Arts Barn, Kentlands Mansion and the Activity Center at Bohrer Park that will debut in September.

The City of Gaithersburg presents "Paintings and Portraits" in oil and pen and ink by Carol Hill Read and Alexy Zoob. This multi media exhibit runs from Sept. 14 to Nov. 12, 2012, at the .

Viewing hours are Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The City of Gaithersburg presents the work of abstract expressionist artist Jorge L. Bernal at the Gallery from Sept. 21 through Nov. 18, 2012.  Bernal’s unique art will be on view to the public Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.

An artists’ opening reception will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2012, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Watercolors, Acrylics & Oils on Display at Kentlands Mansion

The City of Gaithersburg presents “Watercolors, Acrylics & Oils” by Nighat Ahmed, Sue Kay, Mary Lou Shields and Callie Lebo. Their works will be on exhibit at  from Sept. 28 to Nov. 25, 2012.

The public is invited to an artist’s reception on Tuesday, Oct. 2 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. For viewing times (by appointment only), please call Kentlands Mansion at 301-258-6425.
