Business Update: Roy's Place Operating On Shortened Schedule

Business has been "dying off a little bit."

Those hoping to grab a late sandwich during the week at Roy's Place had better make other plans.

The restaurant has been dark and empty at nights during the week. But fear not, Gaithersburg, the restaurant has merely cut back on its hours.

"We're closing earlier than we used to," Roy's Place kitchen manager Rick Brindley said. "Business has been dying off a little bit."

Roy's Place, located at 2 East Diamond Avenue, is now open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The restaurant previously stayed open until 9 p.m. on Sundays and Mondays, 10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, and 10:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Brindley said the restaurant is currently operating without a liquor license, which has contributed to the downturn in business. He did not say if or when the restaurant would be able to renew its previous license.
