Tipo's will specialize in educational toys and things you won’t find at your local Walmart and Toys “R” Us—since much of what they sell is made in Europe, according to a press release announcing the grand opening.

The toyshop will also sell toys and games for children with special needs and will have book readings and seminars on topics such as recommended toys for children with autism, the press release states.

The Washington Post reports that owners Lew and Sandi Tipograph, who live in Rockville, used to own the highly popular Kids Closet in DuPont Circle, but rising rents and changing demographics forced them to close in the 1980s.

They owners told The Post that they chose Kentlands for the new shot because it felt like stepping back into time.
