Marriott Washingtonian Center is working on a new venue for parties big and small.
The Gaithersburg hotel announced Monday its new Lakeside Ballroom, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and a private terrace overlooking the lake that anchors the Rio Washingtonian Center shopping, dining and entertainment complex.
“The new ballroom embraces the natural beauty that surrounds Gaithersburg Marriott," Gaithersburg Marriott General Manager Sara Moore said in a statement. "When the Lakeside Ballroom is completed in March 2013, no other venue in the region will rival its sophisticated charm and exclusive amenities.”
The ballroom, which combines meeting and event space, features a 672 square-foot pre-function area, 2,700-square foot ballroom and 2,000-square foot outdoor terrace.
The hotel is already accepting Lakeside Ballroom and terrace reservations for spring 2013 events, including wedding celebrations, anniversary parties, bar and bat mitzvahs, client receptions, board retreats and business meetings.

if you put those cheap looking chairs with lack of style and taste into even good nice expensive space you end up with cheap results. They should invest in better chairs. It is a little expense that goes a looooooooooong way! There are those bamboo looking chairs that you see at governor's palaces and other places of high end like white hosue etc.. and they only cost a fraction more and make huge difference. Why don't you upgrade and make the statement and bring good taste into that space? you went so far... go the last few yards!
