MedImmune executive Bahija Jallal will replace current MedImmune President Peter Greenleaf, Washington Business Journal reports.

Gaithersburg biotech giant MedImmune is under new leadership thanks to a shakeup by its parent company, AstraZeneca, according to a report by Washington Business Journal.

MedImmune executive Bahija Jallal will replace current MedImmune President Peter Greenleaf as chief of the Gaithersburg drugmaker, according to the report. Greenleaf — MedImmune's president since 2010 — will lead AstraZeneca's Latin American business beginning in March.

More changes for the biotech firm are in the works, but there has been "no announcement yet on other job changes or potential layoffs," according to the report.
