Gaithersburg Declares Snow Emergency
Residents asked to move cars from roads, remove ice and snow
A snow emergency has been issued for Gaithersburg effective 11 p.m. Tuesday, city officials announced. Cancellations will be posted on the city’s website.
In order make street clearing more efficient, the removal of cars from snow emergency routes and cul-de-sacs has been made mandatory. Failure to comply could result in ticketing or towing, city officials said.
Also, a city snow ordinance requires residents, property managers and businesses to clear snow and ice from sidewalks within 12 hours of the last snowfall or freeze.

Gaithersburg officials have warned residents to take precautions ahead of the significant snowstorm, the “snowquester” forecast to dump several inches of snow and blast wind gusts onto the Washington, DC region Tuesday night through Thursday morning.
The storm is expected to bring 4 to 8 inches of snow in Montgomery County.

To report trees down in city roadways and on public property, residents should call 301-258-6370. Call 911 if live wires are involved, or if the tree has trapped someone or is blocking a roadway or a structure. For downed trees on public property outside the city, Montgomery County residents should call 311 (240-777-0311 from a cell phone), or file a report at www.MC311.com.
