UFO Sighted In Gaithersburg

POLL: What do you think of UFOs?

On any given night in the DC Metro region, someone can look up and see lights in the sky. Most of the time they're obviously airplanes or helicopters.

But sometimes the explanation might not be so obvious.

UFOStalker.com, a website dedicated to cataloguing UFO sightings, lists one report on Feb. 22 right here in Gaithersburg.

According to the report:

We were driving down 355 last night in Gaithersburg and I noted a very bright object in the sky, and since it was not moving too fast decided it had to be a helicopter, It looked like a three pointed star. Surely that was because of the atmosphere, I thought. Then we made a left turn and I saw two more up in the sky, again very bright and seemed to consist of three pointy arms. The really odd thing is that they seemed to be so close together- flying in formation.

Do you believe in UFOs? Or do you think there is a reasonable explanation for every sighting?

Take our poll and let us know.

On the lighter side: All those who believe you have sighted UFO's.... Have you ever stopped to think, after believing you have witnessed alien visits, that they, those little creatures, say to one another "hey, Mork, great place to visit but I wouldn't wanna live there"! Must be our political debates & cost of living that scare them off! LOL!

But, if they do exist, I have a great landing zone for them since I can't convince the State & County to put a limitation on (cable) satellite dishes on single-family residence(s)...to add addendum to current bill that permits cable dishes. Everytime a new occupant moves into one of the homes in my community, they add one more dish...three now inoperable; one actually hooked up to service! Roof looks like something (aesthetic) from Outer Space! I have been waiting for years for Mork et al to land at that home! Nanu nanu! Hummm! Maybe those who actually believe in UFO's should consider putting surveillance on that home and 'hold your breaths in anticipation'! But I understand all the male aliens look like Newt Gingrich! LOL!

Not all UFO are what they appear to be, some are very much man made and are in our air all the time, for the top 11 man made UFOs with pics and a few short videos check out http://www.educatinghumanity.com/2011/06/ufos-ufo-news-ufo-video-ufos-that-are.html

Ufology, as expressed as a belief in aliens, is fantasy. SETI will never hear radio from any other beings due to the tyranny of time. IF we did hear radio signals, it would be the epitaph of those beings, for they must appear here before their signals to display any ability to help us. It would mean they went extinct for whatever reason. The idea that they are here and do not help, having power over time and space, means they are the cruelest of beings.

Seems, Nathan, by asking this question (right up there with survey taken on those who use their phones in the latrine...hummm!) & some comments shared that you are on the road to making a sequel to "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". LOL!

Seen sphere UFO with my own eyes. Slowly moved, then was hovering in the same spot for 7 minutes, then slowly moved away and then gone in an instant. That means they put the pedal to the metal. BTW..Las Vegas 1999

There has to be intelligent life somewhere in the universe, because there is bugger all down here on earth (thanks Monty Python). Can't believe the voting. Don't people have rational thought any more?

Apparently, Gburgatheist, if we live in Gaithersburg or Montgomery Village, the answer to your question is "absolutely not"! LOL!

I believe I saw one two weeks ago. I live in the King Farms community and I was just walking my dogs and while I was looking up at the sky, it was a clear starry night, and I was looking at one star which I thought was part of a constellation. It did not twinkle, or blink like an airplane. 3 seconds in to staring at it, it begand darting the SW skies to the NW skies, I know it was not an airplane because airplanes do not travel that quickly from above Fairfax, VA to Northern MD that quickly, and it just vanished as soon as it got to the NW area of the skies. There was also no engine noise likeon aircrafts. This was just the second sighting I saw.

My first sighting was when I was ovserving Jupiter back in May when Venus, Jupiter, and the moon were in alignment. I was observing Jupiter and taking a look at the visible four moons. I noticed a white object flying from one moon to the other, but I eliminated the fact it was an asteroid from the asteroid field between earth and jupiter becuase the glowing object was able to maneuver left-right, up-down, forward and backward. I am not saying it is an alien, but it was definitly a flying object that I could not identify.
