It was a somber ceremony at Christman Park in Gaithersburg as veterans, family members and city officials commorated Memorial Day through song, prayer and oratory.

Lt. Gen. Harry E. Soyster, former director of the United States Defense Intelligence Agency, was the featured speaker.
