Let me help you! But first, allow me to introduce myself. I am an Associate Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist based in Montgomery County, MD. I graduated from American University in 2006 with a master's degree in Behavior, Cognition, and Neuroscience. Six years and a ton of experience later, I started Helping Pets Behave, LLC.

Now that I'm all set up and ready to go, I'd like to contribute to the community and answer your questions! Think of this as an advice column for pet owners. Each month I'll answer one question from a local reader. If you don't mind, please read the following recommendations and FYIs to benefit the most from this blog:

• It'd be great if you could keep your questions short, sweet, and to the point. One paragraph or less, please!
• Unfortunately I'm not a veterinarian and cannot answer non-behavior related health questions. I'm sure your veterinarian would appreciate it if you asked them instead! ;)
• Serious behavior problems, such as aggression, will not be addressed on this blog. If your pet is exhibiting concerning behaviors, please contact me privately or another qualified animal behavior professional for guidance. 
• I won't be able to answer all questions but will do my best. My apologies if I don't get to yours!
