Gaithersburg Crime: Lakeforest Mall Carjacking, Armed Robberies of Local Gas Station, Restaurant and More

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Montgomery County police released a crime summary for Jan. 28 through Feb. 5. The following incidents were reported in Gaithersburg:

  • A robbery occurred in the unit block of School Drive on Wednesday, Jan. 30, just after 11 p.m. The suspects threatened the victims with a weapon and obtained property.
  • A robbery occurred in the 500 block of West Diamond Avenue on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at an unknown time. The suspect is known to the victim.
  • A commercial armed robbery occurred at the Liberty Gas Station, 623 S. Frederick Ave., on Saturday, Feb. 2, just before 7 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.
  • A carjacking occurred in the parking lot of Lake Forest Mall on Sunday, Feb. 3, just after 1 p.m. The suspect forcibly obtained the vehicle from the victim.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 18700 block of Severn Road on Sunday, Feb. 3, between midnight and 2 a.m. Entry to the home was not forced and property was taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 16700 block of Shea Lane on Sunday, Feb. 3. Entry to the home was not forced and property was taken.
  • A commercial armed robbery occurred at the Pollo Ala Vista restaurant, located at 16905 Oakmont Ave., on Monday, Feb. 4, around 9:30 p.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.
