Police investigating whether other young men were assaulted by the same man over past 10 years

Montgomery County police are investigating whether a Gaithersburg man arrested on a sex offense charge last month may have sexually assaulted a series of young men over the past decade.

Joey Poindexter, 38, was charged with second-degree sex offense and was being held on $500,000 bond, according to court records accessed online.

Police accused Poindexter of sexually assaulting a person he met at a College Park bar Oct. 3. He was arrested Oct. 10, police said in a statement Monday night.
