Gaithersburg Police Arrest 3 For Strong Arm Robbery

Three men in their early 20s were charged with strong arm robbery in a July 13 incident near Victory Farm Road and Saybrooke Oaks Boulevard.

Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Investigative Section have charged three men in their 20s in a July 13 robbery of a man on foot near Victory Farm Road and Saybrooke Oaks Boulevard, according to a news release.

Jean Marcel Bai, 24, of North Summit Avenue in Gaithersburg, Tidiane Bamba, 23, of no fixed address, and Yekeh Pratt, 22, of North Summit Avenue were charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, second degree assault, conspiracy to commit second degree assault, theft less than $1,000 and conspiracy to commit theft less than $1,000.

Bai and Bamba were held at the Montgomery County Detention Center, according to the city. Pratt was released on a $25,000 bond.

A victim told police that at 11:30 p.m. July 13 he was approached while walking in the area. After a brief encounter, he said, the suspects returned, physically assaulted him and stole his property.
