Police Arrest Montgomery Village Man for Burglary

The 35-year-old man was charged with burglary for a Feb. 17 break in.

Gaithersburg Police today announced they have charged a 35-year-old Montgomery Village man in connection with a February break in.

Eric Carnevale of Watkins Mill Road in Montgomery Village has been charged with first-degree burglary, theft under $10,000, theft under $1,000, six counts of credit card theft, six counts of obtaining property by theft, unauthorized use of a credit card and three counts of identity fraud.

The burglary that led to these charges happened on the evening of Feb. 17 on Oak Avenue in Gaithersburg, police said.

According to online court records, Carnevale has a long rap sheet that includes several charges of attempted credit card fraud as recently as February, auto theft charges in 2011 which were not pursued, and a guilty plea to a first-degree burglary charge in 2006.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 13 in District Court.

Carnevale is currently being held on $15,000 bond at the Montgomery County Detention Center.
