Police Seek Help In Solving December Homicide In Gaithersburg

Montgomery County police continue to investigate the Dec. 3 death of 45-year-old Cesar Smith.

Montgomery County police are hopeful the public can provide new information leading to an arrest in the December death of a 45-year-old Gaithersburg man.
Cesar Smith was found dead at an apartment complex on Whetstone Drive in Gaithersburg early on Dec. 3. Policeresponded to a report of gunshots at 12:06 a.m. and found the victim when they arrived at the North Frederick Avenue (Route 355) complex. Police reported multiple suspects in the apartment.

Investigators hope someone will come forward with key information regarding Smith's death, said Officer Janelle Smith, a county police spokeswoman.

"The leads we had are exhausted, so they're looking for new information," Officer Smith said.

Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime.
