Montgomery County Government Schedule - Observance of Martin Luther King Day

Montgomery County government will observe the following holiday schedule for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday on Monday, January 17:

  • County Offices -- closed
  • Libraries -- closed
  • County liquor stores – closed
  • Ride On – special modified holiday schedule
  • Metrobus – special service
  • Metrorail – Saturday schedule (5 a.m. to midnight)
  • TRiPS Commuter Stores (Silver Spring and Friendship Heights) – closed
  • Refuse/recycling pickup – no collection*
  • Transfer Station – closed
  • Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters – free
  • MCPS Administrative Offices – closed
  • State offices & courts – closed

*All collections scheduled on or after the holiday will be made one day later that week
