Proposal could add antenna on a baseball field light post

AT&T wants to place a cell phone tower at Kelley Park in order to improve service, The Gazette reports.

Gaithersburg City Manager Tony Tomasello made the announcement Monday night.

The company submitted a proposal that includes adding an antenna on a baseball field light post. Because of the proposed location, city staff plans to recommend the proposal go through the public process, The Gazette reports.

If approved, AT&T would have to pay construction costs and pay the city rental fees between $1,800 and $2,000, The Gazette reports.
