Gaithersburg Mayor Sidney A. Katz and the City Council are scheduled to vote Monday to annex the 27.89 acre Sears property along Shady Grove Road, officially putting it inside the city limits and blunting the city of Rockville's effort to annex the same property.

Katz maintains Gaithersburg has not violated a Memorandum of Understanding between the two cities regarding the Shady Grove border. The Memorandum expired in late July.
