Gaithersburg Lady Trojans Beat Walter Johnson
The Wildcats took an early lead, but Gaithersburg came back to win 76-57.
On Monday, December 19, the Gaithersburg High School Lady Trojans fought off a fierce challenge from the Walter Johnson High School Lady Wildcats before pulling away for a 76-57 victory.
After the teams played to a 12-12 tie in the first period, the Lady Wildcats jumped out to a 24-14 lead in the second behind some tremendous outside shooting.
The Lady Trojans rallied to take the lead 32-31 late in the half, only to have the Lady Wildcats drain a three pointer at the horn to grab the lead, 34-32, at the half.

But, in the second half, the Lady Trojans, again led by Colleen Marshall and Jackie Jackson, used their tenacious defense and strong rebounding to gradually pull away.
Octavia Scott and Michelle Winters came up huge for the Lady Trojans, playing strong defense and knocking down a multitude of shots, both inside and outside to knockout the Lady Wildcats.
The 6-0 Lady Trojans -- winners of 31 straight -- play at Northwest High School on Wednesday, December 21.
