Gaithersburg Water Park

FROM CITY PRESS RELEASE: Enjoy lots of cool summer fun at the Gaithersburg Water Park.  It opens for the season at noon on Saturday, May 28 and closes on Labor Day.  You’ll find it next to the Skate Park, Miniature Golf Course and Activity Center at 506 South Frederick Avenue, on the grounds of Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm.

The Water Park’s main pool offers shallow water play, recreational swimming, and a large water umbrella.  But the main attraction is the double-flume slide, which sends swimmers down from a 38 foot tower.  The Water Park also has a separate tot pool, fountains and sprays to entertain the little ones, a carpeted sun deck, grassy areas with picnic tables, and a snack bar plaza operated by Boardwalk Fries.  And when you need to get out of the sun, there are plenty of shady spots.

The Water Park operates on a pre-season schedule while school is in session.  The full summer season begins June 11, with the pool opening daily at 11 a.m. and closing at 7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.  Admission is $5.75 for City of Gaithersburg residents and $7.25 for nonresidents on weekends and holidays.  There are discounts for weekday admissions and for children and senior citizens.  For schedules, admission fees, money-saving season passes and more call 301-258-6445 or visit the City’s website at www.gaithersburgmd.gov/waterpark.
