Gaithersburg Golfers Qualify For Wednesday's State Championship

Six golfers from Gaithersburg-area high schools qualified for the 4A/3A MPSSAA golf semifinals, held Monday in College Park.

(Update, 10:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 22): Three of six Gaithersburg-area high school golfers participating in Monday's state semifinal round have qualified for Wednesday's championship.

Quince Orchard's Jun Ahn (77), Ryan Leavy (80) and Jared Swick (80) made Monday's cut.

Gaithersburg's Peter Galvin (96) and Quince Orchard's Michael Bushman (87) and Colton Christenson (84) were eliminated.

(Original Post, 11:43 a.m., Monday, Oct. 22): Six Gaithersburg golfers teed off Monday morning with hopes of qualifying for the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association's state championship round on Wednesday.

Gaithersburg High School's Peter Galvin and Quince Orchard's Jun Ahn, Michael Bushman, Colton Christenson, Ryan Leavy and Jared Swick all qualified for Monday's semifinal round at the University of Maryland -- College Park golf course.
