Vacancy Announced on the Planning Commission

The Gaithersburg mayor and City Council are seeking to fill a vacancy on the Planning Commission. The incumbent is seeking reappointment. Interested candidates should send resumes and letters of interest via U.S. mail to Mayor and City Council, 31 South Summit Avenue, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877, or send via email to cityhall@gaithersburgmd.gov by 5 p.m. on July 20. Well-Known Authors, Local Playwrights Featured at 11th Annual One-Act Festival

Enjoy an eclectic mix of short plays as the City of Gaithersburg joins with Montgomery Playhouse to present the 11th Annual One-Act Festival July 13 through 22 at the . Performances will be held Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., with special Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Tickets are $16, $14 for City of Gaithersburg residents. The festival presents two separate evenings of one-acts in rotation. If you would like to see all the plays offered in the festival, you will need to purchase two separate admissions. 11 Pooches Compete for “Citizen Canine" Title

Voting has begun for the City of Gaithersburg “Citizen Canine” Photo Contest. Visit the City’s Facebook page to cast your vote. The photo with the most number of “Likes” will be named Gaithersburg’s Citizen Canine of the Year and will receive a $75 PetSmart gift card, with second and third place winners receiving $50 and $25 PetSmart gift cards. Voting ends July 6.
