Women's Soccer Gold Medalists Visit Kentlands Restaurant

Team USA's Lori Lindsey and Becky Sauerbrunn visit Not Your Average Joe's on Friday, Aug. 24.

Two members of the America's Olympic gold medal-winning women's soccer team, Lori Lindsey and Becky Sauerbrunn, were celebrated by Kentlands restaurant Not Your Average Joe's on Friday, Aug. 24, according to a news release.

Lindsey and Sauerbrunn were in the DC-area to participate in a charity event, the August Cup Tournament, which promotes women’s soccer in the United States.

"We’re so thrilled with the welcome we have received, and particularly honored that these young women, who so successfully represented the United States in London, choose to stop by to greet their supporters,” NYAJ founder and President Steve Silverstein said in a statement.

Kentlands residents and restaurant-goers had the chance to meet with the two Olympians.

“The staff here enjoys its role in creating a home away from home for Kentlands," NYAJ General Manager Erik Larson said. "To see young Kentlands boys and girls meet these gold medalists was inspiring, just as the Olympians inspired all of us.”
